Resume Writing Tips - How NOT to Write a Resume

A recent poll of technical recruiters and hiring managers asked for their top "pet peeves" - things they see on resumes and cover letters that make them less interested in speaking with a candidate. These resume writing tips make great examples of how not to write your resume.

With a 30+ year career in HR and Change Management I take a different view of resumes. Tips to help applicants is different than gripes by recruiters who are just interested in making their jobs easier. You have both in this article.

Also I always liked to see the applicants product rather than the “Cookbook” approach. It gave me a better insight into the writer and didn’t waste my time on those who couldn’t or wouldn’t spell/punctuate correctly or thought uncle Billy was a good reference.
