Email Etiquette

Monday November 10, 2008

Once again, it's time for my quarterly reminder about email etiquette. In the absence of face to face or telephone communication, the emails you send form the basis of how you are viewed. In many instances, this may be the only information a coworker, client or potential employer has to make an impression of you.

For the most part, we take email for granted, assuming that what we write will be taken as we intended it. We often hit "send" with no further thought. Of all the forms of communication we use today, though, email has the highest likelihood of being misinterpreted. Make sure you are well versed on email etiquette to avoid unnecessary miscommuication.
