From Patricia Pickett:

Although I specialized in "new media" (online journalism) in university, I barely knew what an operating system was when I was first hired as an intern writer at ITBusiness.ca. But I quickly got to know and love the tech industry, and became interested not only in IT itself, but also in the people who created software and hardware, who worked with it on a daily basis, and who had questions about how to manage and further their IT careers. That's why when I became a department editor at IT World Canada, I asked if I could focus on Tech Careers as my main "beat."

I've been able to take what I learned from my research and from interviewing high-tech executives and experts, and apply it toward my current transition into my own tech career as a front-end web developer. And I'm looking forward to helping readers find out more about how to move ahead in their own technology careers, whether they're just starting out in IT or are hoping to make a switch to a new field.
