Jobs
Recruiters, employers, agencies and HR reps may post active, no-fee, US and international job openings in technical fields. Please read the FAQs about what is inappropriate to post on this board. Then, if your opening is appropriate, please be specific. Provide:
- Job title
- Brief job description
- Experience required
- Job location
- Company name (agency, recruiter or employer)
- Contact person
- Phone number with area code
- Address (especially email) or fax number and instructions for résumés
- Company site URL if available (see How to)
Please follow the guidelines closely. It's in your best interest to provide as many details as possible, to establish trust and distinguish your genuine job openings from vague and questionable "opportunities" often posted to boards. Posts such as "Seeking computer talent worldwide" are too broad and misleading. They're recruiting commercials, not jobs. ;-) Vague and questionable opportunities, and advertisements for products or services will be removed from the board. Please see Be an Advertiser for information about advertising at The Mining Co.
I usually re-post opportunities to job newsgroups, to get the word out nationally or internationally. The more details you provide, the better I can target appropriate newsgroups. Many don't allow generic posts. Please be aware that you may receive spam from opportunists who browse newsgroups. If you prefer that I don't re-post your jobs, please let me know by email before you post, as I check the bulletin board and re-post often.
| It's a good idea to include the word Job in the subject, to differentiate your post from the other types. For the benefit of our audience, also include the job location. (e.g., Job: Windows NT Administrator, Chicago, IL) But please, no excess punctuation, symbols or UPPERCASE characters. That's called shouting on the Net, and it's considered rude. ;-) It also hints to the wise that your opportunity may be a scam or scheme, as opportunists often include such in tabloid-style ads. |
