IT Jobs
Wanted Technologies recently launched Wanted
Jobs IT, a customized version of its predecessor, Wanted
Jobs 98. It's an intelligent agent that searches
for information technology jobs, right from your desktop. It runs on Windows 95,
98 and NT.
Wanted Jobs IT installs, loads and searches fairly quickly, even on a 28.8 modem. Just select a state and job category, type one or more keywords to narrow your search, and off it goes, searching multiple jobs sites while returning results to your screen. Double-click a result, and your browser displays details of the job.
Currently, the job categories from which you may select are:
- Databases & Data Processing
- Graphics, CAD & Drafting
- Hardware Engineering
- Internet
- Management
- Networks, LAN-WAN & Mainframe
- Sales & Marketing
- Software Engineering
- Technical Support, Helpdesk & Field Service
- Technical Writing
Read the press release for the job sites Wanted Jobs IT searches.
Wanted Jobs IT has all the features of its predecessor, and all the drawbacks, too. (See Cool Tools IV.) But overall, it works pretty well. As its predecessor, Wanted Jobs IT is free if you don't mind registering personal information, and putting up with banner ads and pop-up windows. In an earlier email correspondence, Wanted Technologies wrote that registration is confidential, and only for update notices and demography.
If you're not looking for jobs in IT, download Wanted Jobs 98 instead. If you already have it, you may be interested to know that Version R1.15 was released April 6, 1999.
