Educational Expenses: Tax Year 2000

You may be able to deduct the cost of education if it improves the skills you need in your current work, or is required by your employer or law.

If you received employer-provided educational assistance, you may be able to exclude thousands of dollars from your compensation (box 1 of Form W-2), if you received the money from a qualified program.
