Taxes, Credits
and Deductions

As your Job Searching -Technical Guide, I would be remiss if I didn't offer you a feature about job-related, US taxes, credits and deductions in the month you receive your W-2 forms.

Even the IRS is online (What can you not find on the Net?), and I scoured their site for job-related tax topics. You'll find lots of them on your left.

The links are not encompassing, as there are always personal exceptions when it comes to taxes. For example, if you're an independent contractor (IC), you're in a different ball game than employees. Some of the links are relevant even for ICs, but you may want to start with Topic 407, Business Income.

More from
the IRS

Independent Contractor or Employee, you may need forms and information about taxes, credits, and deductions that are not necessarily job related. No problem. The IRS site is easy to browse and search. Once you link to it from here, you'll be able to easily navigate to all the information you need to complete your taxes. The IRS offers free forms for downloading, publications online and for downloading, information organized by tax topic, and electronic filing by computer. Nice to know our tax dollars are going for something useful!
