Major Job Banks

America's Job Bank
Did you know that your state-run employment office has an inside track to jobs from thousands of public-sector and government employers in your state? (You don't have to be eligible for unemployment benefits to use the free service.) Since America's Job Bank is the official, central job bank for all state employment offices, you may search right there or link to your state employment office.

CareerBuilder
Click the US map to see who's hiring. CareerBuilder has partnerships with the employment sections of several major newspapers across the US, and deals directly with hiring employers and staffing firms.

Dice
See who's hiring at one of the leading information technology (IT) job banks.

Employment Wizard
Not among the majors as far as this writer knows, but it has a nifty feature that lets you search for hiring employers by newspaper, region or state.

HotJobs.com
Browse or search featured, hiring employers by state. HotJobs is among the most-successful job banks.

Monster.com
Browse featured, hiring employers by state. Monster.com is one of the largest recruiting sites.

Job Forum
Employers and recruiters often post jobs in the Jobs Offered and Always Hiring folders of the forum, right here at Job Searching: Technical. (Only reputable jobs are allowed. Work-at-home and other job scams and schemes are not, although they might appear temporarily until deleted.) It's been a bit slow recently, but you might want to bookmark it and keep an eye on it, as jobs are going fast these days. Registration is required to post messages, but not to read them. To register or log in, click the link above. To read only, click the Guest Access link on the same page or click here. For a quick look at recent posts, check the Recent Discussions box below, and near the bottom of just about every article at Job Searching: Technical. The links give you guest access and display the message on which you click.

Live Job Fairs
Attending job fairs is one of the best ways to land a job, because every employer in attendance is hiring or at least gearing up to do so. From here you can link to job fair schedules, to find those occurring in your area.

US Newspapers Online
The employment sections of your local newspapers are still among the best places to find jobs, as they are highly focused on your area. Link to online newspapers listed by state, right here at Job Searching: Technical.

Virtual Job Fairs
A collection of links to "online" job fairs, which typically feature links to employers who are hiring right now. Some even schedule live chats with hiring employers.
