As we move closer to the new millennium, many companies are scrambling to fix the year 2000 problem, also known in the Web community as the Year 2000 Bug, Y2K Problem and Millennium Bug. Estimates to fix it across the board run into the billions of dollars.
It's hyped in the media like crazy and dozens of doomsday articles have been written about it, along with just about as many that say it's not going to be all that bad. Regardless, certain religious sects are preparing for Armageddon, while corporations plan to stockpile inventories just in case. Y2K Web sites and WebRings are springing up everywhere, and even Yahoo! has a special section dedicated to it.
