What is Black History Month?

Every February in the USA, we honor the achievements of our African-American culture with articles, documentaries, movies, special events, and more specifically in this case, diversity career events and job fairs. Black History Month began in 1926, when Carter G. Woodson created and promoted Negro History Week, now more commonly called Black History Week. In 1976 it evolved into this month-long celebration, also called African American Heritage Month.

What are "diversity" career events?

Diversity career events are scheduled job, educational and employment-networking opportunities for American ethnic groups, including African, Asian, Hispanic and Native Americans. Some also cater to women, veterans, people with disabilities and other groups in need or underrepresented in the workplace. But diversity events are typically open to all, because their purpose is to encourage and provide equal opportunity. Career events include job fairs, career workshops, learning seminars, and even group activities that combine fun, food and entertainment with networking opportunities.
