Internet Jobs
Dot-Coms Luring Seasoned Pros
Time to Make Your Move?
At least the e-commerce Internets will likely have to stop favoring entry-level twenty-somethings, to keep older audiences evolving with the Web and entice them to give up their hard-earned money to sites unknown. Internet jobs will require many more seasoned professionals of the baby-boom generation from here on out; pros with experience in system design, network security, marketing, retailing, accounting and copywriting to name only a few. Consequently, seasoned pros are leaving their traditional job roles and heading for Silicon Alley and Silicon Valley, to apply their related experience to Internet jobs.
It's the seasoned pros who will prosper most from Internet jobs, especially when it comes to e-commerce. Furthermore, baby boomers are now the largest group in the workforce, computer jobs are among the ten fastest-growing occupations (thanks significantly to the Internet), and unemployment was still at a low of 4.1% in February. If you're a seasoned pro of the baby-boom generation and you've been thinking about switching careers to an Internet job, now might be the time to make your move!
