Introduction:
The Houston-based company TriGeo Network Security Inc. launched in 2001 as a provider of security information and event management solutions. It's focused on helping mid-market companies shield their data and networks from both internal and external threats.
The Product:
The company's main product, TriGeo Security Information Manager, consists of a set of tools that work together to gather, correlate and analyze event logs coming from various security devices across the enterprise. The solution works in real-time to automatically identify, respond to and notify appropriate staff regarding suspicious behavior, policy violations and network attacks.
TriGeo targets mid-sized organizations, which typically don't have the staff and financial resources to run 24/7 security operations centers, so the firm has pre-configured its tools and made them available in an all-in-one appliance format, giving customers a "plug-and-play" experience - no professional services required to install, configure or tune the product.
Market Position and Achievements:
TriGeo has received several industry awards, including Best of Show and Best Midmarket Hardware Solution at the May 2009 Midsize Enterprise Summit. In the first quarter of 2007, research firm Gartner Inc. positioned TriGeo in the "Leaders" quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for security information and event management. Info-Tech Research Group also positioned TriGeo as a "Competitor" in 2007, and gave the company one of its Decision Diamond Awards.
Job Opportunities:
Some of the skills TriGeo looks for include: user interface development; Java engineering; software testing; and technical support.
