Use the following resume template for your job search if you have some work experience.

Objective
I like to see this customized for the job being applied for, I think it adds a nice touch. Make sure, at the very least, it is a close match. Leave this pretty vague if you are using this version of your resume to post on job boards.
Skills SummaryInclude programming languages, operating systems, databases, applications, tools, platforms - this should be a keyword rich section, and should represent the skills you are strongest in.
Most Recent EmployerTitle, Dates (i.e. June, 2002 to present)
Bulleted description of major duties and accomplishments.
Previous Employer
Title, Dates (i.e. January 1998 to June, 2002)
Bulleted description of major duties and accomplishments.
Repeat this format for all previous employers. If you had more than one position at a company, list the employer, then most recent title, dates held, previous title, dates held, like so:
XYZ Company
Lead Software Engineer, January 2000 to June 2002
Software Engineer III, January 1998 to January 2000
Awards and patents held, if any, can go here.
Relevant certifications can go here. An industry recognized certification can also go after your name, in the first line of your resume. Such as John Doe, MCPD
Since this resume template is for someone with years of experience, the education can go towards the end. If you hold more than one degree, list the most advanced degree first, like so:
EducationMS, Computer Science, Stanford University
BS, Computer Science, UC Berkeley
Its not necessary to put your GPA in an experienced resume. Only add it in if it was really high.
This resume template is meant to be a starting point, to get you thinking about the best format to display your skills.
