GlassDoor.com is an interesting website that was founded by Rich Barton (founder of Expedia.com and Zillow.com) and Robert Hohman (past President of Hotwire.com). The idea behind the site is to make transparent the salaries and employee satisfaction of any company.

The way the site is designed to work is this: The site collects company reviews and real salaries from employees of large companies and displays them anonymously for all members to see. You must first log in and fill in information about your job, company, and salary before you can view other responses.
GlassDoor Average Salary Data :
Overall, the salary data I saw on there looks pretty accurate according to my knowledge of the market. The company and management reviews are fascinating and entertaining. Its nice to see up to date salary data - many of the other salary sites have a bit of a lag behind reality. It will be interetsing to see how the company plans to keep users from posting false data on there - at this point, the company has only said they have ways to help detect false posts, but won't discuss the details beyond that.
