Novell Certifications

by John Steven Niznik
for About.com

Novell certifications are for upcoming and experienced computer network professionals. They set the initial standards for computer training and certification years ago.

Novell certifications are among the most prestigious certifications on their own. But add a Novell Network Certification to a Microsoft Certification, and you've got a valuable combination of skill sets for jobs in many corporate management information systems (MIS) and information technology (IT) departments. That's because many companies have Microsoft Windows servers, computers and workstations on Novell intranets. A nice plus is that Microsoft will give you credit for certain Novell Certifications and vice versa (at this writing).

Authorized training partners offer Novell certification training courses, self-study materials and financial assistance. Prometric and Pearson Virtual University Enterprises administer the exams.

Computer Certifications

Earning Novell Certification at a prestigious educational institution is impressive. But, if you don't have that kind of money, typically, you may take Novell Certification training courses anywhere and anyway you want (e.g., inexpensive self-study courses), and then pay to take the exams. Passing the exams is what earns Novell Certification.
