SSCP - The Systems Security Certified Practitioner

Definition:

The SSCP or Systems Security Certified Practitioner is a mid level certification that is available through the (ISC)2. The SSCP is meant for professonals such as Senior Network Security Engineers, Senior Security Systems Analysts or Senior Security Administrators. The certification is for those information security professionals with a focus on implementations.

Prior to taking the SSCP exam, applicants must subscribe to the (ISC)2 Code of Ethics and have at least one year of work experience in one or more of the seven domains in information security. Those seven domains include: Access Controls; Analysis and Monitoring; Cryptography; Malicious Code; Networks and Telecommunications; Risk, Response, and Recovery; Security Operations and Administration.
